Oppo Neo 3 handset out for Rs 10990, is competing with Asus ZenFone

For some weird reason, the Oppo Neo 3 thinks you’ll be willing to pay Rs 10990 for it when there are competitors with better specs costing much less. Take the new ZenFone 4 which has superior specifications on a few counts, but still asks you to cough up only Rs 6999 for it.
And then let’s not forget the Xiaomi Redmi 1S handset which is priced even more competitively at Rs 5999 in spite of featuring impressive components for a device of its ilk. So let’s tell you what you’ll be getting for Rs 10990 with the Oppo Neo 3 smartphone.

If you ask us what’s the difference between the Oppo Neo and the newer device, the addition of flash is the only major change we can spot. The latter handset works on Android v4.2 Jelly Bean mated with Oppo’s proprietary ColorOS user interface.
The dual SIM device sticks to a 4.5-inch FWVGA resolution touchscreen and works on a dual core 1.3GHz processor of unnamed origin, though MediaTek is the sensible bet. It limps along on 1GB of RAM and has 4GB of memory which can be expanded by up to 32GB via its microSD card slot.

Oppo Neo 3 specs at a glance:
- Android Jelly Bean with ColorOS
- 4.5-inch FWVGA 480 x 854p display
- 1GB RAM, 4GB internal memory
- 32GB microSD card support
- Dual core 1.3GHz processor

Oppo signs exclusivity deal with Flipkart for flagship Find 7 sales

Oppo signs exclusivity deal with Flipkart for flagship Find 7 sales
Oppo has become the latest mobile company to team up with Flipkart to sell its range of devices in India. The company said that all the smartphones it has launched in India till date will now be sold exclusively via Flipkart including its latest Find 7.

Oppo has been looking to expand in India and this deal is a step towards increasing its pan-India footprint. The company also plans to expand more service centers in the next one year. So far, Oppo has launched 10 devices in the India market that range from sub-Rs 10,000 to Rs 40,000.

Tom Lu, CEO, Oppo Mobiles India, said “We have been striving to come closer to our customers and become a part of the society. With more and more consumers going online, having a digital presence has become a must. Flipkart is definitely one of the most popular shopping platforms with a very loyal customer base and by partnering with them, we are sure OPPO’s smartphones will reach out to more customers. With our products, Indian customers will get a chance to experience the best in innovation, the way many customers have enjoyed globally .”

Oppo is a Chinese smartphone brand that entered the Indian market earlier this year with the N1 featuring a 206 degree rotating camera, a 5.9” screen, and rear touch panel. Lately, it launched the high-end Find 7 with a 5.5-inch QHD display with 1440×2560 pixels of resolution, and pixel density that goes all the way up to 538ppi. It claimed to be the first phone with a QHD display to be launched in India. The Find 7 gets a top-of-the-line quad-core Snapdragon 801 (MSM8974AC) – one of the most powerful SoCs in the market – clocked at 2.5GHz and coupled with a 3GB of RAM.

Oppo Find 7 with QHD screen goes Flipkart exclusive, listed for Rs. 37,990

Oppo Mobiles' entire range of smartphones that have been launched in India till date will be available to online customers through Flipkart. Oppo says its Find 7 smartphone will be exclusively available through Flipkart.
The company believes the tie up with Flipkart will help increase pan-India footprint. It is also planning to set up more service centres in the next one year. Oppo has already launched 10 devices, between Rs. 10,000 and Rs. 40,000, in India this year.
Commenting on the tie up, Mr. Tom Lu, CEO, OPPO Mobiles India says, “Flipkart is one of the most popular shopping platforms with a very loyal customer base and by partnering with them, we are sure OPPO’s smartphones will reach out to more customers. With our products, Indian customers will get a chance to experience the best in innovation, the way many customers have enjoyed globally .”
Interestingly, Oppo has already tied up with Amazon.in to sell its smartphones online.
Oppo's Find 7 was announced in June this year. The Find 7 is among the first smartphones to feature 2k display. Other important features of the device include quad-core processor, 3GB of RAM, 13MP rear camera and 4G connectivity. Read: Oppo Find 7 Review
Of late, we have seen several smartphone companies taking online route to sell their products. Flipkart has had several high profile exclusive tie ups that includes Motorola and Xiaomi. Samsung is also planning to partner with Flipkart for the launch of its next smartphone – Galaxy S5 mini.

Oppo N1 mini with 5-inch display and rotating camera to launch soon in India

Oppo N1 Mini
Oppo forayed in the Indian smartphone market with its N1 smartphone. The Oppo N1 smartphone is the world’s first ever smartphone to come with a swivel camera that doubles as a front camera with a simple twist. Now the company is up for launching a smaller size variant of its popular N1 smartphone in India. The original N1 smartphone has a massive 6-inch display, also the rotating camera technology adds a little more height and weight to the device so overall the device is much bigger than other smartphones with the same display size.
The Oppo N1 mini will come with a 5-inch 1280x720 pixel display with a density of 294PPI. It will use a Quad-Core Snapdragon 400 processor for the power and 2GB RAM for smoother multitasking. It will also have Adreno 320 GPU for graphic rendering and 16GB built in storage for media storage.
Like the larger N1 this one will also have a 13-MP primary camera that can be roated back and front and used as a front facing camera too. The camera software on the device has an Ultra HD mode which will produce 24-MP pictures with the same 13-MP camera. The power on the device will be delivered from a 2,140mAH battery abode. We are excited to see this device in action and are eagerly waiting to test the Ultra HD feature of the camera. Let us know what you feel about this smartphone?

Oppo to launch the N1 mini smartphone on 11th August

Oppo unveiled the N1 Mini smartphone for India recently. The device is likely to hit the shelves in India on August 11th. The N1 Mini will come with a rotating swivel camera just like the taller N1 smartphone. The company has released an update saying that readers should block the date and day for an important announcement from Oppo Mobile India.
Oppo launched the N1, Find 7 and Find 7a recently in India. All these devices are flagship variants and have features unique to them. The original Oppo N1 smartphone has a massive 5.9-inch display and a rotating camera that can be used a front and as a rear camera.
The Mini variant would not dump the rotating camera but it certainly gets some slashed specs and size. The Oppo N1 mini has a 5-inch 720p display and the 13-MP rotating camera sits on top. The processor on this device comes with 1.6GHz of clock speed with 4 active cores and is paired with 1GB RAM. Oppo also praises this smartphone for having an Ultra HD mode than can generate 24-MegPixel photos with the same 13-MP camera.
We will be checking out this device with great excitement as we also expect it to have the rear touch panel like the bigger Oppo N1. Let’s see how the final product comes out. Stay tuned!
